PIXEL Graphic Design Club
The old logo's combination of the symbol and typographic treatment no longer represented how we wanted to showcase the club, it made the club feel more traditional. The new logo still keeps the P shape of the original logo. Its simple shape allows it to be easily recognizable and have the flexibility to be used as any color against any background.
The modern feel of the new logo gave me the opportunity to update the website to both serve as a better resource location and as a new way for people see us. Since 2010, the goals for PIXEL have been putting its name out more to the design student community and
defining itself as a networking resource for the students. The current website shows its 3 basic resources: Events, Job Opportunities, and Resources (student tips, etc).
In addition to the new website in 2011, I also established a new club policy in hopes of increasing event attendance. The new policy indicates that a student must attend 3 or more events by the end of the year to be eligible for PIXEL's most popular event — Studio Tours in San Francisco. With an increase in social media involvement, classroom to classroom announcements, and effective promotional posters, attendance for events doubled and even tripled.
